LuxiMed Care is an innovative mobile clinic run by Shirley and Demetra, two nurse practitioners with over ten years’ experience in acute care and family medicine. Whether it’s a minor emergency or a family medicine problem, we offer a variety of health services.<\/p>\n

I am pleased to introduce myself as Demetra Horotan, an experienced nurse practitioner (licensed in Quebec and Ontario) with a strong background in adult medicine, obstetrics and paediatrics; A graduate of McGill University and winner of several performance awards, I bring to my practice a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of healthcare. Having worked in the emergency room of one of Montreal’s busiest hospitals, my areas of expertise include emergency medicine, dermatology and family medicine. <\/p>\n

I am passionate about providing holistic medical care to clients of all ages, tailoring treatment plans to meet their specific needs. My passion for medicine and our desire to make healthcare more accessible led my partner and I to create one of the first nurse practitioner clinics at the Jewish General Hospital. Beyond the walls of medicine, I am passionate about fitness. <\/p>\n

My sporting experiences have taught me discipline, perseverance and teamwork, which have proved invaluable in my career. Hello! Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Shirley Destin, a nurse practitioner with extensive experience in primary care. Originally from Florida, I moved to Quebec\/Montreal 15 years ago to pursue a new career. I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, as well as a post-graduate diploma as a primary care nurse practitioner from McGill University. <\/p>\n

I gained my professional experience in hospitals and clinics, as well as in long-term care facilities for the elderly. I have expertise in various fields, including family medicine, emergency medicine and geriatrics. As well as being one of the first nurse practitioners to provide services to retirement homes in Montreal, I have also been involved in major projects aimed at improving access to and the efficiency of healthcare in Quebec. For example, my partner and I played a major role in establishing the first nurse practitioner emergency referral clinic at the Jewish General Hospital. <\/span><\/p>\n

I am particularly interested in women’s and men’s health, vulnerable populations and the elderly. I strive to empower my patients to make informed decisions about their health through health education.
